Christopher Slicer, chairman of Delaware National Guard Youth Foundation (DNGYF), says “All our military children willingly serve alongside their parents who are members of the Delaware National Guard. They experience the absences from their parent who leaves the home to serve on yearlong deployments overseas, annual trainings, and drill weekends. They miss milestone moments, birthdays and many school activities and sports games. We lift their spirits through the Foundation’s keyprogramming for our military children which includes bringing them all together for monthly activities, quarterly family events, summer camp, activity grants and scholarships.”
