Elkton bowling alley fire causes $3 million in damage

A fire at an Elkton bowling alley resulted in $3 million in damage.

The fire was discovered at 3:10 a.m. Friday when an alarm wwent of at Elk Lanes.

The building had smoke alarms with no sprinkler system activated.

Thirty-five firefighters from the Singerly Fire Co. responded to the blaze. There were no injuries from the blaze that took 90 minutes to control.

The fire started in the mechanical room, with the cause under investigation.

The state Fire Marshal’s office and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fire arms are investigating the fire. It is standard procedure for the ATF to investigate larger fires in commercial buildings.
