The Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) advises residents to monitor developments from a powerful system in the Atlantic that is increasingly likely to bring blizzard conditions.

A Winter Storm Warning was issued for the entire state of Delaware for Friday night and into Saturday. Snowfall amounts along the I-95 corridor remain uncertain.

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for Sussex County, with high winds and  whiteout conditions.

The latest briefing indicates that coastal areas of the state could see eight to 12 inches of snow with lesser amounts to the north. An earlier briefing indicated that up to 18 inches could fall along the Delaware beaches. The heaviest snowfall is now possible along the Jersey Shore.

Another briefing is expected early Friday night
