Hospitalizations in Delaware fell below 500 in the Thursday summary from the Delaware Division of Public Health.
One new death was reported, a Kent County resident in their 80s who was unvaccinated. The death toll from the virus rose to 2,494.
New daily positive cases remain elevated, although well below the mid-January figure of 3,200.
The other numbers
• 1,550 positive cases, bringing the overall total to 244,730.
• 22.3% of total tests were positive in the 7-day rolling average, down eight-tenths of a percent from the previous day.
• 498 current hospitalizations, down 23 from the previous day, including 49 individuals in critical condition.
• 28 new hospital admissions, up 17 from the previous day.
• 7,749 tests were performed daily in the seven-day average, down 73 from the previous day.
• 643,213 people fully vaccinated, up 1,033 from the previous day, according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.
• 1,673,738 total vaccine doses (up 5,911 from the previous day, according to the CDC Vaccine Tracker.
