Ventura joins WSFS as private banking SVP
John Ventura has joined WSFS Wealth Private Banking as Senior Vice President, Senior Private Banking Relationship Manager.
Ventura has more than 15 years of experience in private banking, including assisting clients with financial planning, portfolio management, asset allocation, trust administration and estate settlement, hedge funds, private equity and real estate, risk mitigation, and complex tax and legal issues. He joins WSFS from PNC Wealth Management, where he most recently served as Vice President, Senior Relationship Strategist.

The University of Delaware’s Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance announced that Justin P. Klein has been named as the new director of the Center.
Justin Klein has been a member of the Weinberg Center’s Advisory Board since 2015. He was a partner at Ballard Spahr LLP from 1992 through 2019 and most recently has served as senior counsel at the firm. He has represented public and private companies and their boards and board committees in various transactions, including securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. He also has advised firms in the securities industry, including broker-dealers and investment banks, and has assisted clients in day-to-day corporate governance and other transactional matters.
Before entering private practice, Klein served for nine years at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Klein earned his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
Klein replaces the founding director of the Weinberg Center, Charles Elson, professor of finance, and Edgar S. Woolard, Jr. Chair in Corporate Governance, who stepped down from the position in 2020.
Wohlsen names project executive
Wohlsen welcomed Mark Grunza to the team as a Project Executive in the Delaware Valley region. In this role, he will be responsible for improving the vision of project leaders, driving job planning, providing education to the project leaders on critical and strategic decision making, and fostering client retention.
Grunza earned a bachelor’s degree from Wilmington College, where he graduated Cum Lade with a degree in Business Management. He also holds an associate degree from Delaware Technical & Community College in Construction Management and Industrial Engineering.
CSC adds Morelli as senior managing director
CSC announced the addition of Edward Morelli as senior managing director to its Global Financial Markets (GFM) division. CSC is based near Wilmington.
He will lead the specialized escrow and agency efforts of its wholly-owned and fully regulated subsidiary, Delaware Trust Company.
Gruswitz named associate director
Ariel Close Gruswitz was named associate director, consulting services at Maryland-based Facility Logix.
She was director of innovation for the Delaware Prosperity Partnership, a public-private economic development agency.
Facility Logix provides consulting services in life science clusters and in developing lab and bio-manufacturing spaces

CBRE names regional market leader
CBRE announced that Rija Beares has been appointed Advisory Services Market Leader for Greater Philadelphia, including oversight for downtown and suburban Philadelphia, Delaware, Southern New Jersey, the Lehigh Valley and Central Pennsylvania.
Wilmington HOPE Commission names Brown as executive director
The Wilmington HOPE Commission announced that Darius Brown has been named Executive Director of the Commission, effective September 13, and Dr. Debra Mason has been appointed to the new position of Deputy Executive Director of the Commission, effective September 27. Brown succeeds outgoing Executive Director Tamera Fair, who announced her departure earlier this summer. Fair will remain with the Commission through the end of September 2021.
The Commission is an organization for reducing recidivism by assisting ex-offenders in their return to the community.
New Castle County law enforcement nominations announced
New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer nominated current New Castle County Chief of Police Vaughn Bond to the position of New Castle County Public Safety Director. Meyer also nominated Captain Joseph Bloch as Chief of Police. Both individuals will assume their new positions October 1 in an acting capacity, pending New Castle County Council approval.
Sussex County Land Trust appointed three board members
The Sussex County Land Trust (SCLT), a non-profit conservation organization, announced the appointment of three new board members: Tracy Adams, Ring Lardner and Michael Dickinson, as part of a strategic effort to expand its footprint and representation across Sussex County.
Adams is an active partner in the daily operations of her family businesses: Melvin L. Joseph Construction, M.L. Joseph Sand & Gravel, Stockley Materials and Citation Rentals.
Lardner assumed responsibility to lead the Milford Municipal Engineering Department at Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. (DBF). Lardner retired from the Delaware Army National Guard in November 2017 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Dickinson is the Vice President of SoDel Concepts, overseeing all aspects of the business, which continues to expand, increasing to 14 coastal Delaware restaurants by spring 2022.
