DuPont names chief human resources officer

DuPont announced that Christopher Raia has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Raia will report directly to Ed Breen, DuPont CEO.

Raia, who has been serving as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer, brings over 25 years of experience.

[Not a valid template]Prior to DuPont, Raia served as Senior Vice President Talent and Organization Effectiveness at Newell Brands and at Citizens Bank. Earlier, Raia founded and managed an HR consulting firm specializing in organization design, change management, and leadership development.

Raia earned a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and a B.S. with University Honors in Psychology from Brigham Young University.

Whalen joins WSFS Institutional Services

Sandra Whalen has joined WSFS Institutional Services, a division of WSFS Bank, the primary subsidiary of WSFS Financial Corporation  as Senior Vice President, Business Development Officer. Reporting to WSFS’ Executive Vice President and Chief Wealth Officer Arthur J. Bacci, Whalen’s primary focus is to strengthen and grow client relationships, help develop new products and work closely with the Corporate Trust team.

Whalen brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate trust transaction and relationship management, including working collaboratively across organizations to proactively manage and improve client relationships through her industry expertise and proven market leadership. She joins WSFS from Wells Fargo, where she mostly recently served as Vice President, Business Negotiations Manager.

Poore named to World Trade Center Delaware board

World Trade Center Delaware announced that Delaware state Sen. Nicole Poore has become its newest Board member.

Poore represents the 12th Senate District, which includes most of New Castle and Bear, all of Delaware City and communities south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, including Whitehall, Bayberry and others. 

Poore currently chairs the Joint Capital Improvement Committee and serves as vice chair of both the Senate Health & Social Services Committee and the Senate Labor Committee. She also sits on the Senate Elections & Government Affairs Committee

Diamond State Financial Group names senior partner

Ketul Mody, has been named Senior Partner with Diamond State Financial Group. Mody is a Financial Advisor at Diamond State Financial Group since 2008 and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management. He specializes in insurance, financial, retirement, and business strategies.

Keystone Funding expands team

Keystone Funding, Dover,  is expanding its team.

Jeffrey Antoine was named as senior vice president and national sales director to deepen the company’s existing presence and expand its offerings nationwide. Antoine, based in Ponte Vedra, Fla., brings 18 years of experience in senior sales leadership roles, most recently serving as senior manager of the southeastern region for JPMorgan Chase.

Ray Crew has been named learning and development manager. Crew’s more than 20 years of experience in organizational change and performance improvement will help Keystone Funding teams achieve  a distinct customer experience across all channels.

Delaware Small Business Chamber announces  board members

The Delaware Small Business Chamber announced two new members of the board of directors and the new 2021 slate of Executive Board members.

Added to the board this year is Melissa Woolman with Choice Insurance and Bob Cole owner of Jan-Pro Cleaning Services of Wilmington.

Megan Varley, owner of the Surface Restoration Company has been named the 2021 Chair of the Board; Michael Kelly, owner of Enviro-Master of Delaware has been named the Vice-Chair and Casey Fitzgerald with Mercantile Processing Inc. is the Treasurer.  Cathy Turner with WSFS is the Ex-Officio. 

Oursler named to be Beebe Medical Foundation board

Christian Hudson, chair of the  board  of the Beebe Medical Foundation, announced that Marnie Oursler will now join the foundation Board and serve as a director. 

Oursler is President of Marnie Custom Homes in Bethany Beach. She was the host of Big Beach Builds  which  ran for two seasons on The DIY Network.

Surgeon Dickson-Witmer joins Beebe Healthcare

Beebe Healthcare welcomed breast surgeon Diana Dickson-Witmer, MD, to Beebe Medical Group.

A board certified surgeon, Dr. Dickson-Witmer joins Beebe with decades of experience and expertise in the field of breast surgery and oncology. She will lead the Beebe Center for Breast Health.

Previously, Dickson-Witmer was the Medical Director of the ChristianaCare Breast Center at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, where she chaired the weekly breast tumor conference.

In 2017 after being Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship surveyor for 10 years, she played an integral role in the creation of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at ChristianaCare, securing  a five-year approval by the Society of Surgical Oncology and becoming the Program Director of the Fellowship.

Dickson-Witmer graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She also served a residency there, as well as at the Medical Center of Delaware, where she was chief surgical resident in 1982.

Thornton named BSA  Development Director North

Del-Mar-Va Council, Boy Scouts of America hired Alec Thornton as Development Director to serve all three counties in Delaware and Cecil & Kent counties in Maryland. He will be working to build support for life changing programs for children 6-18 years old in units throughout the Delmarva peninsula.

Thornton brings has seven years of experience in development and annual giving. He has worked with several higher education institutions across the country. He holds a B.S in Psychology from Colorado State University.

Sorels joins  BHHS  Fox & Roach

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors Christiana Office, welcomed Debbie Sorrels as a sales associate. Sorrels has been licensed since 2017. She serves New Castle and Kent counties.
