Monday: Covid dashboard: Deaths rise by 2 as positive cases fall to 214

In the Monday,  Covid-19 report from the Delaware Division of Public Health, two new  deaths were reported. The death toll reported on Sunday was nine. The information was gathered on Sunday night.

Delaware’s total number of Covid-related deaths rose to  1,475.

The other numbers:
  • 214 new positive cases, down from 219 a day earlier. The number of positive cases had averaged 700 or more during and after the holiday period. Cases fell to the 100 level after a 2020 spring surge.
  • 100 hospitalizations, down from 104 a day earlier.  During the winter peak of the pandemic, cases climbed toward he 475 mark. 
  • 15 people in critical condition.
Positive cases have been on the decline throughout the state, the exception being the area around the University of Delaware.  UD moved to carryout service in dining halls and warned that further measures will be taken if case numbers don’t decline.
