Cover & Rossiter announced that Marie Holliday was recently elected to the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Governors and Peter Kennedy was elected to the Delaware College Scholars (DCS) board.
[Not a valid template]Holliday is the Managing Director of the firm, a role she has held since December 2015.
In addition to serving on the Chamber’s Board of Governors, Holliday participates in a nationwide practice management (MAP) group through the AICPA and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc. and Wilmington Tax Group. In the community, Holliday is an active member of the Newark Morning Rotary Club, is board Treasurer for New Directions Early Head Start program and is a Founder in the Delaware Fund for Women.
Kennedy is a Director at Cover & Rossiter and heads the Audit practice.In addition to his role with Delaware College Scholars, Pete is a member of the Finance Committee of Christiana Care Health System, the Audit Committee of the Delaware Community Foundation, the Audit and Governance Committee of the Delaware State Employee Benefit Plans Management Board, and the EastSide Charter School Citizens’ Budget Oversight Committee.
Chesapeake Utilities promotions, appointments
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation announced several recent promotions and new officer appointments.
Beth W. Cooper has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. Cooper provides financial oversight over the entire organization and works directly with the Board of Directors including the Audit Committee, senior management, the Company’s business units and key external constituents.
James F. Moriarty has been promoted to Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Policy and Risk Officer of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. In addition to Moriarty’s current responsibilities, he will lead the integration and provide oversight of the Regulatory and Governmental Affairs function across the company.
Kevin J. Webber has been promoted to President of Florida Public Utilities Company and Senior Vice President of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation
Cheryl M. Martin has been promoted to Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. In her new role, she will lead an integrated Regulatory and Governmental Affairs function for the Company. In 2011, she became the Director of Florida Regulatory Affairs and Business Analysis.
Michael D. Cassel has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of FPU. In his new role, he will lead the Regulatory and Governmental Affairs groups for FPU..
Buddy Shelley has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Electric Operations for FPU. He is responsible for operations and engineering for all-electric entities as well as the innovative Eight Flags Energy CHP plant.
Barry D. Kennedy has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Natural Gas Operations for FPU. He has been instrumental in driving growth in our natural gas operations in Florida and is responsible for operations and engineering for all-natural gas distribution entities as well as Peninsula Pipeline’s intrastate assets.
Delaware Tech honors Lewis
Delaware Tech is honoring Patricia Dailey Lewis, Esquire for Women’s History Month at a special event recognizing women in Delaware history.
Patricia Dailey Lewis is the Executive Director of the Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children.®. The foundation was created in 2015 after the death of the State of Delaware’s former Attorney General, Joseph R. “Beau” Biden, III, to honor his life’s passion – protecting children from abuse.
A practicing attorney for 34 years, Dailey Lewis was previously Deputy Attorney General with the Delaware Department of Justice and, until her retirement on November 30, 2015, served as the Director of the Family Division. Dailey Lewis has worked in the field of family and child advocacy, domestic violence and the protection of vulnerable adults and the elderly for more than 30 years.
Delaware River and Bay Authority names chief engineer
Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials announced that David A. Hoppenjans, P.E. of Landenberg, PA, was promoted to be the bi-state agency’s next Chief Engineer.
Serving as the Chief Engineer, Hoppenjans is responsible for Authority-wide infrastructure engineering and construction activities, including developing and directing strategic planning of construction and renovations at all DRBA facilities. The Chief Engineer is also a key player in the development of the agency’s Capital Improvement Program.
A licensed professional engineer, Hoppenjans earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree in strategic leadership from Neumann College.
Gray named to Wilmington council
Linda Gray, a former parole officer, and magistrate judge is the new 1st District Council Member of the City of Wilmington.
Gray replaces former Councilman Nnamdi Chukwuocha, who left the seat in November after his election to the Delaware General Assembly.
Gray has been a resident of the 1stDistrict for more than 40 years and has served in various capacities with the Brandywine Hills Community Association, 1stDistrict Planning Council, Brandywine Zoo, The Rockwood Foundation, Wilmington Arts Commission, and the inaugural First Night Wilmington Planning committee.
Correction Department announces appointments
Delaware Department of Correction (DOC) Commissioner Perry Phelps announced that he has selected a new Chief and Deputy Chief of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and Warden of the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution (BWCI) in New Castle.
Shane Troxler has been chosen to serve as the Bureau Chief of Prisons. The mission of the BOP is to provide overall administrative support to prison facilities, which enforce judicial sanctions for offenders and detentionees in a safe, humane environment. It also provides protection for the public with incarceration and rehabilitation programs that address societal and offender needs.
Delaware State Police and Air National Guard veteran Paul Shavack was promoted to Deputy Bureau Chief of Prisons. Shavack joined the Delaware State Police in 1992 and brings 26 years of law enforcement and training experience to his new role.
Brian Emig, Deputy Warden of BWCI, was promoted to Warden with an effective. Emig brings 17 years of correctional experience to the position. Brian graduated from CEIT in 2002 and was assigned to the Plummer Community Corrections Center. Emig is certified in Prison Security Audits, Operational Practices in the Management of Women’s Prisons and Prison Staffing Analysis, all completed by the National Institute of Corrections.
DiDonato joins Nanticoke staff
The Nanticoke Physician Network welcomed Edda DiDonato, to its Nanticoke Immediate Care staff.
DiDonato received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Family Nurse Practice from Wilmington University.
She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and has several years of prior professional experience as a Critical Care Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Kent General Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
