Light snow fell in Delaware Friday morning as the end of a cold spell approached
Delaware Department of Transporation treated and plowed roads The light snow quickly stuck on roadways and parking lots as temperatures remained well below the freezing mark.
Icy conditions contributed to a number of accidents and snowfall, while light, remained steady
Snowfall amounts were higher in southern Delaware and led to some offices closing early.

The state saw warmer weather over the weekend as the snow melted away.
Delaware escaped the worst of the storm and the polar vortex, which led to a long-stretch of near-record cold in the Midwest.
