APEX Piping buys sheet metal fabricator N. Barton

Screen Shot 2016-01-04 at 4.48.43 PMAPEX Piping Systems, Inc. announced the purchase by APEX Piping Systems of substantially all the assets of N. Barton & Associates Inc.

Barton was based in the Marshallton area near Newport and west of Wilmington.

APEX President Patrick Oakes stated, “The acquisition is in line with our efforts to grow our customer base and enhance our product offering.”

APEX Piping Systems, Inc offers mechanical  construction services; Boiler System services; a manufacturer of ASME code pressure equipment, and along with   pipe and tube forming capabilities. The company  fabricates  metallic piping systems to industrial and commercial accounts in the U.S.

APEX Piping Systems is presently registered or licensed to perform field contracting work in eighteen (18) states. APEX provides industrial construction, fabrication and maintenance services to the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas (including mid-stream liquid & gas terminals), power generation, cryogenic & air separation, pharmaceutical, electronic, food & beverage  and allied industries.

According to   Oakes, “The N. Barton business fits nicely with the proficiency of the APEX “Mechanical Service” and “Boiler Service” divisions.”

N. Barton & Associates, Inc. is a fabricator and contractor that provides  HVAC and specialty sheet metal fabrication services (including the field installation of HVAC ducting and related sheet metal items).

Products and services of the former Barton business copings, flashings,  and siding; enclosures; electric boxes; catch pans; canopy & slot hoods (including hood installation); boiler breaching, boiler internals; exhaust stacks; dust collection systems; clean rooms (Class 10 to Class 1000); structural  (ladders, handrails, stairs & platforms, tables & frames); tanks, machinery guards; firefighter equipment  (including fire gear racks and fire truck accessories); custom machine fabrication and turnkey projects.

The name N. Barton will continue to be used.   Oakes added “The quality sheet metal and HVAC products and services offered by N. Barton & Associates, Inc. will now be available through N. Barton Sheet Metal & HVAC, a division of APEX Piping Systems, Inc. “

The company reports that the new division will be managed by James Schneckenburger, who along with many of his N. Barton team will be joining the APEX Piping Systems organization.

As the former owner of N. Barton & Associates, Inc., Schneckenburger  said he was excited about the new opportunity. “I do feel that this is a good one. This will refresh and invigorate us as employees. There will be new opportunities that you may never have had before”.  Schneckenberger said

Schneckenberger thanked the former employees of N. Barton saying that “they have been exceptional employees and that they have worked tirelessly.” He also noted that N. Barton and APEX Piping Systems employees have worked together on many projects over the years. He also mentioned that he had spoken with several of N. Barton’s clients about the change and they were very supportive of the move. “They liked the idea that we would now be a full service mechanical contractor”.
