Ex-bank employee charged with stealing funds from deceased person’s account

New Castle County Division of Police has arrested former WSFS employee Latia Wynn, 25, also known as Itiyya Wynn of Wilmington, regarding multiple theft-related charges.

In February, Officers were called to a residence on Constitution Boulevard and met with the family of a person who had died in a motor vehicle accident.

The family was in the process of closing the individual’s accounts when they noticed money missing from a bank account.  

Officers identified the suspect as then-employee Wynn.  It was determined that Wynn acquired the deceased Victim’s information as the family was closing the accounts and began withdrawing money while an employee of the bank. More than $44,000 in funds were withdrawn.

On Wednesday, April 24, Wynn was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where she was charged with the following:

•  One felony count of identity theft.

•  One felony count of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony

•   One felony count of theft $1,500 or greater.

Wynn was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $18,000 unsecured bail.
