Longwood Gardens Executive Director Paul B. Redman is the recipient of the 2015 Person of the Year award from the International Garden Tourism Network (IGTN). The Garden Tourism Awards are presented to organizations and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the development and promotion of the garden experience as a tourism attraction.

Redman joined Longwood Gardens as Executive Director in 2006. Under Redman’s leadership, Longwood embarked on a ground-breaking strategic planning process that has resulted in the diversification of its programming, increased attendance to more than 1.1 million guests per year, and grew the membership program to include more than 52,000 households.

Redman continues to propel Longwood with investment in emerging technologies, including online learning for Longwood’s respected educational programs, and global horticultural research and student programs through the establishment of partnerships in China, Singapore, the U.K and Russia. Redman is currently leading Longwood through the largest project in its history.  New Heights: The Fountain Revitalization Project encompasses a complete restoration and enhancement of Longwood’s historic Main Fountain Garden, built in 1931.  The revitalization will include innovative new fountain designs, energy efficient lighting, and enhanced garden areas for guests to enjoy. The $90 million project is slated for completion in 2017.
