Amish Mill owner charged with making false trespassing report to County Police

Amish MillThe owner of the Amish Mill store in the Prices Corner area was arrested earlier in the week on charges of filing a false. report.

Michael Wharton, 50, whose address is listed as the store on Greenbank Road, west of Wilmington, On March 12, 2014, Michael Wharton was arrested  by New Castle County on two counts of falsely reporting an incident to police.  He was arraigned and issued $1,000.00 unsecured bail, and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution for violating his probation.

According to  County Police, Wharton  reported several  persons  were walking on his property and he was in fear for his safety. The officers learned Wharton has had ongoing disputes with those  picketing in front of his business, the Amish Mill, for the past year.

County officers have responded to Wharton’s residence on multiple occasions during the month of March for reports of subjects trespassing on his property. All were found to be unfounded.

Wharton was arrested earlier on an offense touching charge after he allegedly spit on an individual.

Wharton was earlier fined $23,000 in a civil matter involving consumer fraud. He was charged  with not delivering previously ordered furniture and even adding fees to those who complained or even asked about the status of the orders.

Yes the report was made to nonemergency that I needed help getting the Chaingate opened at my business because the one protester who has mental instability was sitting at my gate and I felt threatened to go down there to open the gate Shirley I called for the place for support that’s what your governments provided resting the party that is threatened row of them the crime victim that should be charged

    If your going to print it , least print the truth!
