The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce announced awards at its held Annual Meeting Breakfast at Hartefeld National Golf Club, Avondale.

The Chairman’s Award recipient was Doug Doerfler, WSFS Bank. In 2023, in his second term as Chairman of the Board, Doefler again led the Board in the governance of the organization.

The 2024 Community Impact Award went to to COPE Construction & Renovation. This award, now in its third year, recognizes a member for-profit business-in-good-standing that positively impacts the community through support of local non-profit organizations and philanthropic causes. Past award recipients include The Tri-M Group, LLC, President & CEO James T. Horn, and First Choice Mortgage Advisors, LLC, managing partner Kenneth Pitts.  

COPE Construction & Renovation, was praised by Priscilla Guilbert, the company’s client success specialist and one of COPE’S four adopted children. Guilbert’s remarks praised Drew and Tracey Cope for guiding her and other foster children. The Copes embarked on their Rescue and Repair mission in the summer of 2001, mentored teens with Project RAKE at the Christian Life Center served as foster parents to four teens while hosting dozens at “Camp Cope.

In 2011, they founded Cope Home Repairs, a for-profit venture supporting their ministry with at-risk teenagers.  In 2018, the company was rebranded as Cope Construction & Renovation.

The Copes are now setting their sights on launching The Salvus Foundation, a non-profit endeavor.  

In the past three years, COPE Construction has educated half a million homeowners through 362 YouTube videos that account for 15,000 hours of watch time.  They have also launched the Home Field Advantage Program, taking their expertise nationwide and offering renovation coaching to homeowners as a way to counter con artists.
