New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced a three-week extension for residents to pay their New Castle County sewer bills due to postal service delays in bill delivery.

Residents of New Castle County who receive New Castle County sewer services can expect their sewer bills to be delivered by Feb. 16. Due to what was described as an “unexpected delay” by the U.S. Postal Service, The county is extending the due date of the annual residential sewer bill until March 22.

Residents have been receiving their bills in early February. Bills are typically issued in January with an end-of-February deadline.

“When our office was alerted that residents had not received their annual sewer bills as expected, we immediately investigated the situation and learned that the delay had been caused by operational changes at the United States Postal Service.  County residents should not be held responsible for these delays and so I ordered the three-week extension,” said Meyer.

Residents can access their annual sewer bill online on the county’s website at Parcelview. Residents can also make fee-free payments  HERE.
