Delaware State Police are investigating an industrial accident that seriously injured a worker.
On Tuesday, troopers were dispatched to WWC III Trucking, at 34564 Pear Tree Road in Millsboro, Before troopers arrived, a 55-year-old man had been transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
It was learned that the man was using a torch to cut the top off a barrel that previously contained a flammable liquid. The vapor in the barrel ignited causing an explosion that seriously injured the man.
The incident remains under investigation by detectives.
