The Maryland Fire Marshal’s Office reported a fire at Kustom Auto Repair caused $75,000 damage on Wednesday morning.

Two garages and contents were damaged in the blaze, which was brought under control in 20 minutes by the Rising Sun Volunteer Fire Co. in western Cecil County, MD. No injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal’s office reported that a BMW was undergoing repairs when a fire started in the engine compartment. The mechanic attempted to use multiple fire extinguishers. However, the fire grew beyond his control and spread to another vehicle and to parts in the garages.

Firefighters controlled the fire before it spread to vintage vehicles, including Corvettes and a Packard.
