Giving back: Easterseals honors top team, individual in volleyball fundraiser

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore recognized the top fundraising team and individual in the 2023 Easterseals/CAI Volleyball Challenge. The teams helped raise over $170,000 for people with disabilities and their families.

Raising more than $29,000 the Leadership Delaware team, Legacy ’23, earned the top team prize of 10 tickets to a Philadelphia Eagles game in a suite donated by Barclays. Easterseals also recognized the top individual fundraising efforts of Julia Hensley of Middletown.This year, Hensley raised $10,456, bringing her total 16-year tally to $107,416.

“The critically needed dollars raised in the Volleyball Challenge help ensure that Easterseals will continue to play a crucial role in serving thousands of individuals with disabilities and their families in our community,” Easterseals CEO, Kenan Sklenar, said. “Thank you to everyone for supporting us as we continue our mission of inclusion and independence for all individuals of all abilities.”

Now celebrating 75 years, Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore’s services include children’s therapies, day programs for adults with physical or intellectual disabilities, supported employment, personal attendant services, senior services, recreational camping, respite services, and services for caregivers.
