Bancroft promotions, retirement

Petka

After nearly three decades, Bancroft’s Vice President of Operations, Bart Nave, retired on January 1. Bart joined Bancroft Construction, Wilmington, in 1993 as a Project Manager and was named to operations vice president in 2008.

Racca

Mike Petka was named as  Nave’s successor as Vice President of Operations.  Mike joined Bancroft in 2000 as a Project Engineer and most recently was Vice President of Preconstruction, 

Bancroft announced Kelli Racca, AIA, as Mike Petka’s successor as Vice President of Preconstruction. Kelli joined Bancroft in 2015 as a Project Executive. Before joining Bancroft, Kelli served as the Director and Chief Operating Officer for the Christina School District.

NAI Emory Hill retires; partners named

Bob Hill

NAI Emory Hill announced today that Robert (Bob) H. Hill is retiring from his longstanding role as president and partner.

Hill joined Clay Emory in 1981 to establish Emory Hill & Company and founded Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. in 1983. Bob served as President of Emory Hill & Company and Vice President of Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc. Emory Hill has built and developed over 15 million square feet in four mid-Atlantic states. Bob will remain a general partner in Emory Hill.

Neil Kilian, Director of Brokerage, and Clayton Hill, Director of Property Management, will succeed Hill and join Carmen J. Facciolo, Jr. as partners of the firm.

Kilian, head of NAI Emory Hill’s Commercial Brokerage Division, oversees a team of ten brokers and agents. He also supervises the leasing of a portfolio of over 60 buildings totaling in excess of four million square feet in the tri-state area. Clayton Hill joined NAI Emory Hill in 2004 bringing with him experience in the fields of commercial mortgage brokerage and institutional real estate investment. He currently oversees the Property Management and Property Management Accounting Division, which manages a portfolio in excess of four million square feet of commercial real estate.

Nickle VP to head ABC Delaware

Nickle Electrical Companies Vice President of Operations Jeromy Newton was sworn in as Chairman for the Associated Builders & Contractors Delaware Chapter. He will lead the organization over the next year.

ABC is a national construction industry trade association.

Newton is the second Nickle employee to serve as ABC Delaware Chairman, as President/CEO Steve Dignan held the spot in 2001. Nickle is based in the Newark area.

Beebe adds two directors

Beebe Healthcare is announcing the addition of two Board of Directors and one retirement.

Stephen Fanto, MD, an anesthesiologist with Delaware Anesthesia Associates, has retired from the board after reaching his term limit. He joined in October 2003. He was the first chair for the Quality and Safety Committee, which was formed in 2007. 

Taking Dr. Fanto’s place on the Board is Mary McLoughlin.  She was appointed as a community member for the Quality and Safety Committee in February 2022 and then the Board of Directors in October 2022. 

McLoughlin

McLoughlin has more than 30 years of experience in health care management, including many years with the American Hospital Association leading quality and patient safety initiatives. Most recently, she served in a variety of quality improvement and health economics leadership roles with a medical device company, focused on developing partnerships to improve outcomes with hospitals and health systems across the country.  

Baker

In February 2022, Pam Baker officially joined the Board. She had been appointed as a community member of the Audit and Compliance Committee in September 2019 and then was appointed as the Chair of the Committee when she became a board member. 

Baker has dedicated her entire career to providing audit and accounting services specifically to the nonprofit and government sectors and serves as the Managing Partner of a regional CPA firm. In addition to the Beebe Board she also presently serves on the Board of the PICPA Foundation.

Katie K. Wilkinson of Fulton Bank transitioned off the Board of Directors. She will remain a member of the Board of Governors. Wilkinson  is this year’s honoree for her leadership as the organization’s first female chair in its 186-year history. 

Easterseals names chief compliance officer

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore appointed Maggie Webb, of Bear, as the Chief Compliance Officer. Webb has been working for Easterseals since 2018.

“We’re excited to have Maggie step into the position of Chief Compliance Office to continue Easterseals’ focus on full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for our programs and services,” Kenan Sklenar, Easterseals President/CEO said.

For the last four years, Webb has served as Vice President of Senior Services/Long Term Services and Supports at Easterseals, managing Adult Day Health Services, Personal Attendant Services and Agency With Choice. She has more than 20 years in healthcare and human services with an operations and compliance background.



Blue Blaze announces staff additions

 Blue Blaze Associates, a full-service strategic marketing and creative design agency, announced the addition of four new team members.

Pastrre

Amy Hicks, senior marketing strategist, will be responsible for creative direction, public relations, and advertising for several clients in different industry verticals. Hicks brings more than a decade of experience in marketing for corporate and entrepreneurial businesses in industries such as hospitality, tourism, events, and retail.

Sharon Pastore joins Blue Blaze as a senior marketing strategist, responsible for managing communications of senior living clients as well as brand strategy for start-ups and growing businesses. Pastore brings nearly 20 years of experience managing marketing campaigns, including development of brand strategy, SEO, social media, and outreach for nonprofits, educational organizations, and legal firms.

Colin Heffinger, marketing coordinator/research specialist, will be working on projects for multiple clients. He will also be leading the process to enhance Blue Blaze’s reputation and external communications through the development of social media, website, and blog content. Heffinger brings five years of experience with a specialization in journalism, email campaigns, and content development for digital and print.

Sharp

Andrew Sharp, content writer/editor, will be responsible for managing, developing, and editing newsletter content for senior living communities and other clients of Blue Blaze. Sharp brings 13 years of experience across journalism, public relations, and magazine writing. He has served at multiple newspapers throughout Delaware in roles such as digital content strategist for The News Journal Media Group and web producer for the Delmarva Media Group.

Diamond State Financial Group (DSFG) has named Neil Stalter,  Bryan Radcliff,  and Tyler Malek as Associate Partners.

Neil’s practice focuses on those nearing retirement and business owners.. 

Bryan joined DSFG in 2012, along with Neil. His practice is comprised of small business owners, medical professionals and those approaching retirement.

Tyler has been a part of DSFG for a decade as well. He works to help medical professionals, business owners and pre-retirees.

Farrall named Newark Police Chief

Acting Chief Mark Farrall has been chosen to lead the Newark Police Department (NPD) as Chief of Police effective February 1, 2023.

A lifelong Newark resident, Mark Farrall is a graduate of Newark High School and University of Delaware. He became a police officer in 1993 after completing the Delaware State PoliceAcademy.

He joined the NPD in 1995. Farrall has served in the Patrol Division, the Traffic, Special Operations, and Street Crimes Units, was a member of the NPD SWAT Team, and has been the Public Information Officer and Professional Standards Officer. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2015 and served as commander of both the Administration & Investigations Bureau and the Field Operations Bureau. From 2018-2020, he served as Acting Deputy City Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Witham named to advisory board member for A Better Delaware

William L. Witham, Jr. has joined as an Advisory Board member at A Better Delaware, a public policy and political advocacy organization.

Witham

Recently retired, Witham has served over 40 years in Delaware’s justice system. He first joined the bench as an associate judge of the Delaware Superior Court in 1999.  In 2005, he was appointed Kent County Resident Judge by Governor Ruth Ann Minner and re-appointed in 2017 by Governor John Carney.  

 Using 34 years of service in the Delaware National Guard including Deputy Commander of the Delaware Army National Guard and his experience on the bench he instituted Delaware’s first Veterans Treatment Court in 2011. This court provides a therapeutic approach to criminal prosecution of veterans with mental illness who are charged with nonviolent felonies and misdemeanors.
