David named Master in Chancery

Bonnie W. David joined the Court of Chancery as Master in Chancery. Her chambers will be located at the Court of Chancery Courthouse in Georgetown.

David

Prior to joining the bench, Master David was a litigator in private practice for Skadden Arps where she litigated before the Court of Chancery with a focus on deal litigation, corporate statutory proceedings and contract disputes, and advised on corporate governance and transactions.

David graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013, where she served as Senior Editor on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She received her B.A. from Boston University, graduating summa cum laude. Immediately after law school, Master David clerked in the Court of Chancery for Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III.

Master David replaces Master Patricia Griffin, who retired from full-time service in December, and who will continue to serve the court in a part-time capacity. Thanks to the addition of a new Master in Chancery position this past year, the court now has ten judicial officers, which is the largest number in its history, including the Chancellor, six Vice Chancellors, and three Masters in Chancery. The increase in the size of the court was one measure to address the increase in the Court’s caseload.
