Phase 1 deck work winds down on New Jersey side of Memorial Bridge

Delaware River and Bay Authority officials announced its contractor, UHPC Solutions North America LLC will begin demobilization efforts on New Jersey Span starting on Thursday, November 10. 

The first phase of the major construction project to rehabilitate the driving surface of the New Jersey bound span is winding down, and all lanes are expected to reopen before the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

The demobilization of the construction zone, including the removal of construction equipment and concrete Jersey Barriers, is set to begin on Thursday, November 10.

Once the demobilization effort on the New Jersey bound Span is complete, work will shift to the Delaware bound span to clear the Jersey barriers for the Bypass Lane.

Thursday, November 10 – Sunday, November 13, 2022:  The two (2) right lanes remained closed, with a third lane closed from 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. to remove the concrete Jersey Barriers and replace them with traffic barrels.   During this process, the left lane on the New Jersey bound Span and the Bypass Lane on the Delaware bound bridge will remain open.
