My take: An unremarkable election (in Delaware anyway)

Good evening,
To no one’s surprise, Democrats won back all statewide offices as well as Delaware’s only congressional seat.

Republicans actually posted respectable performances in races other than the race for the  Congressional seat held b Lisa Blunt Rochester.

Then again this was a non-presidential year, and the margins might be higher for Democrats two years from now.

The disappointment here came in the lack of contested legislative races. Even when candidates from both parties were on the ballot, incumbents won by overwhelming margins.

Based on the unofficial results, prospects for bringing voting by mail to Delaware do not look encouraging, if Republicans continue to oppose the measure

Vote by mail is popular among Delawareans.  But under the current system, voters have no direct say under the Constitution.

In neighboring Maryland, voters appeared to put the state on the path toward marijuana legalization. – Doug Rainey, chief content officer.
