Gallery: Quoin Hotel, restaurant, rooftop bar and lounge open on Wilmington’s Market Street

Philadelphia-based  Method Co. in partnership with local real estate developer Buccini/Pollin Group  opened The Quoin on Market Street in downtown Wilmington.

Designed by Method Studios, the company’s  in-house design firm, in collaboration with Philadelphia-based firm Stokes Architecture + Design, the property is located in the historic Security Trust & Safe Deposit Company building.

The  two-story Victorian Romanesque brownstone dates back to 1885 and was originally designed by architect Frank Furness whose work includes the Wilmington Train Station.

The  hotel will feature 24 hotel rooms in addition to three distinct food & beverage concepts operated by Method Co., including Wilmington’s first rooftop lounge & event venue, a ground floor restaurant, and a lower-level cocktail lounge.

Rates range from $314 to $475 a night at the luxury hotel in the latter part of October.

The Quoin Restaurant & Bar is a neighborhood restaurant offering wood fired fare inspired by the cuisine of Southern France and Northern Italy.

The Rooftop at The Quoin will serve will  be a gathering place and will feature light fare.

The hotel’s craft cocktail lounge, Simmer Down, will feature a room-spanning painted mural by the Rev.  Michael Alan. The destination’s name pronounced  “coin” is derived from the Old French word meaning “corner” or “angle”. Further information  is available at www.thequoinhotel.com
