A Newark outpost of Korean fried chicken chain Bonchon has opened at The Grove, the former College Square shopping center.

Bonchon has 385 locations worldwide and more than 115 locations in the U.S. Offerings include fried chicken wings, drumsticks, and strips as well as kimchi, Korean tacos, and potstickers. Other area locations include West Chester, Philadelphia, and King of Prussia.

Korean fried chicken has become increasingly popular in the U.S. with at least two big chain operations and individuals capitalizing on the trend. Another franchise chain BBQ Chicken is planning to open a location on South Main Street in Newark.
