Delaware comes in 41st in jobless claim decline since onset of Covid-19

Delaware ended up 41st among the 50 states and the District of Columbia when it came to a decline in unemployment claims since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 41st place finish was an improvement from earlier in the month when the state ranked 46th.

States in the region, except for New Jersey (17th), have seen a slower drop in jobless claims. Maryland ranked 39th, with Pennsylvania at 46.

Kentucky had the most rapid recovery, with the slowest turnaround coming in New Mexico.

Red states that vote Republican typically had fewer Covid-19 restrictions and often had more rapid declines in jobless claims. One exception was Texas which came at number 40.

The blue states of Vermont and New Hampshire ranked ninth and 14th, respectively.
