The Courtyard by Marriott Newark University of Delaware has been temporarily closed “to support health and safety measures on the UD campus,”  the university’s UDaily site  announced.

Reservations are now being accepted for stays beginning June 1, 2021 and beyond.

Customers with reservations will be contacted by Courtyard Marriott customer service personnel and have their reservations rescheduled to other local hotels.

UD has seen an outbreak in Covid-19 cases in recent weeks, with the university’s Covid dashboard reporting hundreds of cases that would require quarantining for not only those testing positive, but also for people who have been in contact with the individuals.

Media reports indicated that the university was using hotels in the area to house students. UD has also set aside dormitory space for quarantining.
