The Delaware Department of Transportation reportsthat work is well underway on the I-95 Restore the Corridor project that runs through Wilmington.
Below is a Facebook gallery of photos of the early stages of the project, which will reconstruct and rehabilitate the stretch of interstate that includes a large number of structures that are nearly six-decades old.
The post drew comments ranging from praise for speed of the initial work to one individual who said the project was already moving too slowly.
Traffic on I-95 is now down to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes including I-495. The project runs until 2023.
