Philanthropy Delaware names Brown CEO

Philanthropy Delaware announced that Tynetta Brown has been hired to serve as CEO, effective November 9, 2020.

Brown will work to expand philanthropic awareness in Delaware, assist members and other organizational partners to increase the impact of grantmaking, and ensure members have access to national best practices and philanthropic resources.  She will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the organization, including administrative responsibilities,

Brown served as the Director of Development and Marketing/Communications for the WRK Group (The Warehouse, REACH Riverside Development Corporation, and Kingswood Community Center). She was responsible for the implementation and collaborative oversight of fundraising efforts and the marketing and communications efforts for all three entities.

Wilmington University director wins award

Wilmington University Assistant Director of Creative Services Natalie Ridgeway  will receive a 2020-2021 Rising Star Award from the Delaware ACE Women’s Network (DAWN).

  The Rising Star Award is presented annually to a woman in higher education in Delaware based on leadership activities and contributions to the field, and whose potential to achieve is evident.

 Ridgeway has worked at Wilmington University since 2011 and holds an MBA in Marketing Management from Wilmington University.

Santora announces  promotions

Santora CPA Group, a Newark-based Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm, is pleased to announce the following five promotions:

Kathryn Diseroad, CPA has been promoted to Senior Accountant.  She joined SCG in August 2018 after interning during the summer of 2017.  Katie is a 2018 graduate of the University of Delaware with  Bachelor of Science Degrees in Accounting and Finance.

Kevin Gobiel, CPA has been promoted to Senior Tax Manager. 

He joined SCG in January 2013.  Kevin is a 2010 graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. 

Paul Specht, CPA has been promoted to Senior Accountant.  He joined SCG in August 2018 after interning during the summers of 2016 and 2017.  Paul is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting (2017) and a Master’s Degree in Accounting (2018).

Evan Brabson, CPA has been promoted to Senior Accountant.  He joined SCG in December 2019.  Evan is a 2017 graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.

Brandon Heggan, CPA has been promoted to Senior Accountant.  He joined SCG in August 2018 after interning during the summer of 2017.  Brandon is a 2018 suma cum laude graduate of the University of Delaware with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Accounting and Finance.  He was recently awarded the 2019 Elijah Watt Sells Award from the AICPA for exceptional performance while taking the Uniform CPA Examination. 

Carney announces nominations for high-level posts

Gov. John Carney announced nominations to several administration posts. The Delaware Senate is expected to consider Governor Carney’s nominations when the General Assembly returns to regular session in January.

Cerron Cade will be nominated to lead the Delaware Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which manages Delaware’s annual financial plan and State of Delaware facilities. Since 2018, Cade has served as Secretary of the Delaware Department of Labor (DOL), where he has led Delaware’s workforce development and employment programs through the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Cade served as the first Director of the Delaware Division of Small Business.

Governor Carney intends to nominate Karryl Hubbard, the Deputy Labor Secretary, to serve as the next Secretary. Before and throughout the Covid -19 crisis, Hubbard has led efforts to connect Delawareans affected by the loss of a job or income with employment services and rapid skills training. 

Cade will replace Mike Jackson, who will join Delaware Technical Community College later this month. Jackson has served as the OMB Director since 2017, and previously served as Deputy Controller General for the Delaware General Assembly. Jackson has led development of the State of Delaware’s budget since 201.

Saundra Ross Johnson will be appointed by Governor Carney to serve as Director of Statewide Equity Initiatives. The newly created, appointed position will work across executive branch agencies and serve as a senior advisor to Governor Carney on issues of equity, diversity and inclusion. In 2017, Johnson became the first Secretary of the Delaware Department of Human Resources (DHR), which was created to manage  issues important to state employees.

Governor Carney will nominate Amy Bonner, the Deputy Director of Office of Manaement and Budget , to serve as the next Secretary of human resources. . In her current role at OMB, Bonner oversees financial operations, information technology and human resources. Previously, Bonner served for five years as the Deputy Director for the division of Human Resources Management, where she directed employment services, Equal Employment Opportunity and policy development for the division.

Jason Clarke, the Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the State of Delaware, will be nominated to permanently lead the Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI). Delaware’s CIO manages the State of Delaware’s information technology infrastructure and leads Delaware’s cybersecurity efforts. Clarke has helped manage an expansion of high-speed broadband service in rural Kent and Sussex counties and is leading a transition to digital government services at DTI.

Mamayeva

Bayhealth Primary Care adds internal medicine doctor

Bayhealth Primary Care, Milford welcomed internal medicine doctor Assem Mamayeva, MD.

Mamayeva comes to Bayhealth after completing an internal medicine residency at Lincoln Medical Center and Mental Health Center in Bronx, New York.

She holds a medical degree from Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and she completed an internal medicine residency at Semey State Medical University in Ust-Kamenogosrk, Kazakhstan. She has worked in a variety of clinics and medical offices in and around the New York metropolitan area, providing  primary care services to adult patients.  

Rempfer 

Patterson-Woods welcomes Rempfer 

Patterson-Woods welcomed  Zach Rempfer who has joined its commercial real estate team.

Rempher  has more than 15  years of experience in the hospitality industry, where he helped facilitate the opening of several locations for a regional brewery and was Director of Operations for a restaurant group at the beach, where he oversaw two locations and was instrumental in the opening of a third location.
