Snakes, birds perish in fire at Plumpton zoo near Rising Sun


A fire at the Plumpton Park Zoo near Rising Sun MD claimed the lives of reptiles and birds.

The Maryland Fire Marshal’s Office estimated damage at $150,000 to the frame building at the zoo west of Newark.

The one-alarm fire was contained within 20 minutes.
