The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory today for northern Delaware as remnants of a powerful storm move into the area.
Snowfall of up to an inch is possible north of Interstate 95, with less than an inch to the south and no accumulation in southern Delaware.
Snow may mix with sleet and/or rain by late afternoon or evening, which will hold down snowfall totals.
Snow accumulations near the Interstate 95 corridor are more uncertain owing to warming surface temperatures and potential mixing with sleet (before moving over to rain by late afternoon or evening).
However, less slippery conditions are expected in this region when compared to farther north.
Northern Delaware did see Delaware Deparment of Transportation brining equipment on roads, a rare occurrence this winter.
