Continuing roadwork in the  Route 141 and Interstate 95 area  will lead to the closing of Exit 3B AND Exit 5B until Dec. 21 (weather permitting), the Delaware Department of Transportation announced.

Work will get underway at Midnight on Oct.  23 (weather permitting).

Exit 3B is from Route Route 141 northbound to I-95 southbound (Newport).

Exit 5B is from I-95 southbound to Route 141 northbound (Newport)

The project is part of another round of Route 141 improvements that have been faced by motorists in the past couple of years. The project, which will wind up in spring 2022,  runs on Route 141 at I-95 south to Jay Street in the Wilmington Manor area.

A previous project closed a northbound I-95 ramp to 141 for an extended period, although  a back-door route was available. Complicating matters was a bridge closure for emergency work, asbestos removal and other issues.
