Delaware ranks near the bottom in giving positive reviews for local businesses.
However, 80.3 percent of online reviews left for local businesses in Delaware are positive.
The ranking is from a new study from Womply, a small business software company, on the impact online reviews on businesses revenue.
Womply’s data science team conducted an in-depth analysis of transactions and online review data for more than 209,000 U.S. small businesses in every state and across dozens of industries, including restaurants, salons, auto shops, medical and dental offices, retailers, and more.
Despite the sting of negative reviews for businesses, the report indicated that consumers are largely kind in their reviews, even in states like Delaware.
Other findings:
- Customers in Maine are the kindest in online reviews (84.96 percent positive), followed by Vermont (84.3 percent) and Montana (83.77 percent).
- Nevada has the harshest local business patrons (77.71 percent positive), followed by Maryland (79.24 percent ) and Arkansas (79.49 percent).
Americans are kindest in online reviews to chiropractors (95 percent positive ratings), followed by religious organizations (92 percent), art galleries (91 percent) and dance schools (91percent). Americans are the harshest in reviewing taxi and shuttle services (65 percent positive ratings), followed by hotels and motels (67 percent), real estate businesses (67 percent), and auto wash and detail business (67percent).
