Cheese curds come to Delaware

Speaking of cheese and Newark, UDairy Creamery is now offering cheese curds as part of is new dairy production line.

Fried cheese curds are a popular bar and supper club offering in Wisconsin,

Cheese lovers prize the freshest cheese curds and eat them soon after a trip to the grocery store or cheese factory. UDairy now offers that option.

Quick bite at Deer Park

Tater tots are a mainstay in Delaware and Newark’s Deer Park Tavern is featuring tricked out versions of the humble side order on its Sunday brunch menu.

Options include Breakfast Tots with eggs, cheese and bacon and the  Sunday Funday Bowl with tots, scrapple, bacon, creamed chip beef and Béarnaise sauce.

I chose the  Food Truck Tots, a creation from  Ashby Hospitality’s Roaming Raven food truck. Ashby owns Deer Park, McGlynn’s and other restaurants.  The offering comes with melted Jack cheese, pulled pork and two fried eggs.

The combination is an offbeat but tasty brunch option. The pulled pork, eggs and cheese go perfectly with Deer Park’s tots. Each bite gets a little better, especially when the juicy pulled pork works its way into the tots and cheese.
