Perdue adds grass-fed beef producer to premium meat holdings

Panorama Meats, the nation’s largest producer of 100 percent grass-fed and grass-finished certified organic beef, has been acquired by Perdue Premium Meat Company, Inc.

A release from Panorama described Perdue as “an industry leader in sustainable agriculture and humane animal care.” Perdue is based in Salisbury, MD and is a large poultry processor in Delaware.

Panorama will be the most recent brand to join the Perdue Farms family of sustainable premium meat companies that include Niman Ranch, Coleman Natural, Prairie Groveand Sioux-Preme Packing Co.

Panorama’s nearly 50 independent family ranchers raise U.S. born cattle and in seven states and one million acres of USDA Certified Organic grasslands in Northern California, Southern Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Privately held Perdue has received generally high marks for its work in the premium meat business and in taking the lead in humane practices among beef, pork and poultry processor.
