A nuisance storm dropped a couple of inches of snow in portions of Delaware.

Schools were canceled in northern New Castle County as the storm led to a more difficult morning commute. The fast-moving storm hit early Friday morning, with snowfall stopping by mid-morning.

The DEOS  system from the  University of Delaware reported snowfall totals of as much as 2.6 inches in Greenville and Hockessin and lesser amounts to the south.

Little or no snow fell in Coastal Sussex County.

On Thursday, DelDOT crews again spread brine on highways in anticipation of the storm.
