Delaware gas prices dropped a penny over the weekend as crude oil prices remained low, Wilmington-based AAA Mid-Atlantic reported.

The price at the pump stood at $2.14 Monday, down a penny overnight and down three cents from the last week. The national gas average price was $2.32 Monday, down a penny overnight and down five cents in the last week.
The price at the pump fell to as low as $2 a gallon in the Capital Trail area east of Newark. .
Crude oil has fallen below $43 a barrel, leading to fears of a recession that could dampen demand.
