Butler Bag creator Jen Groover, named by Success magazine as a “One-Woman Brand,” has dedicated her career to inspiring others to realize their potential.

She will share her story and commence the Great Dames’ Remarkable Ideas Competition III on Monday, Oct. 15.

The Great Dames competition is split into two events: the pitch event on Oct. 15, and the winner announcement on Nov. 5.

Both will take place at Harry’s Savoy Ballroom in North Wilmington from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Lt. Governor of Delaware Bethany Hall-Long will serve as the keynote speaker on Nov. 5.

In addition to announcing the winner of the 2018 Remarkable Ideas Competition III, Hall Long will introduce the Remarkable Youth Pitches (for teen girls), which is new this year.

All attendees are encouraged to attend both events, regardless of whether they take part in the competition.

The audience plays an integral role by having the opportunity to hear from the most influential women in the region, plus learn about great ideas.

Attendees then vote on which one of these great visions will become tomorrow’s big idea.

Competition participants will pitch innovative ideas that offer solutions in health and wellness, safety and security or education. The winner receives a $25,000 package of cash and services.

“Women are reshaping the marketplace,” says Great Dames CEO Sharon Kelly Hake. “Women have the ability to sense great opportunities, and through this competition, we hope to provide a platform for sharing their powerful ideas to get support.  We’re also thrilled to welcome Jen and Bethany, who will inspire our audience to activate our ideas.”

Proceeds benefit the Great Dames Fund, which supports causes that empower women and girls.  For more information or tickets, visit https://www.greatdames.com/upcoming-events-1/.
