Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwares accountants  now CPAs

Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwares, CPAs (WW&D) announced that Jodi Bouchard and Sarah Russell have passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination and earned the CPA credential, a symbol of trust and professionalism in the world of business.

Bouchard joined WW&D in 2011. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. [Not a valid template]

Russell joined the firm in 2016. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing.

Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau announces new board officers

The Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau (GWCVB) announced  the election of new officers to its Board of Directors.

The Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau is governed by a board of 27 members, seven appointed by the governor, seven by the New Castle County Executive, and seven by the Mayor of Wilmington. These 21 elect six additional members.

The Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau’s newly elected officers to the Board of Directors include:   ChairmanBill Sullivan, Managing Director Courtyard By Marriott Newark-University of Delaware; 1st Vice Chairman: Jill MacKenzie, Director, Museum and Audience Engagement Hagley Museum and Library; 2nd Vice Chairman:Halsey Spruance, Executive Director Delaware Museum of Natural History; Treasurer: Brad Wenger, General Manager Hilton Wilmington/Christiana and Secretary:John Sarro, Manager, Marketing, Grants & Cultural Programs Delaware River & Bay Authority

National Council on Agricultural Life and Labor Research Fund names executive director

The Board of Directors of National Council on Agricultural Life and Labor Research Fund, Inc., Dover, announced  the appointment of Karen B. Speakman as the organization’s Executive Director.

Besides her work at NCALL, Speakman is an Executive Committee member and past president of the National Rural Housing Coalition, a board member of Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of the Delaware Chapter of the National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials and Housing Alliance Delaware. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Affairs from the University of Virginia.

ShopRite Supermarkets dietitian wins national honor

ShopRite Supermarkets announced retail dietitian Cassandra Umile, R.D., L.D.N, manager of Nutrition Services and Food Production for The Kenny Family ShopRites of Delaware, was named Retail Dietitian of the Year by the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance (RDBA) at April’s RD Retail Exchange in Chicago. The award recognizes a retail dietitian who shows leadership in utilizing business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact consumer behavior through the retail sector.  

Umile started as a retail dietitian at one Shoprite store in 2016 and was later named manager of Nutrition Services and Food Production for the Kenny Family ShopRites of Delaware. She also teaches the company’s food safety class that certifies employees as Certified Food Safety Managers and oversees quality assurance to make sure products and conditions meet company and FDA standards. 

SoDel Concepts

Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, announced that Maggie Cellittois the executive chef of Matt’s Fish Camp in Bethany Beach.

Cellitto is well known for her talent with both the savory and sweet side of the kitchen, as well as for her management skills, a release stated.

She received a degree in baking and pastry arts from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, along with an associate degree in culinary management.

The Clubhouse at Baywood names Pater

 Danielle Panarello, director of operations for The Clubhouse at Baywood in Millsboro, recently announced the appointment of Shelby Pater to the position of lead florist at the restaurant and event venue, which is owned by SoDel Concepts.

A native of southern Indiana, Pater began working in a floral shop while still in high school.  She graduated from Indiana University with bachelor’s degree in visual communication and drama.
