Lauren Tobiassen has been named community banking regional president for Wells Fargo for an area that includes the state of Delaware.
The area includes 64 branches. Her LinkedIn profile says she is based in Media, PA.
Tobiassen is a 28-year financial services veteran and holds degrees from the University of Southern California and the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Wells Fargo, along wth other banks in the region, have not designated a president for the Delaware market alone in many years.
Wells Fargo streamlined leadership of its branch system as it works to trim costs and deal with the aftermath of a scandal over accounts being opened without the the knowledge of customers. Regional presidents typically have 70 or fewer branches under their supervision.
A Wells Fargo spokesman emphasized that the realignment does not affect other business lines, which will see leadership remain in place.
Wells Fargo has often kept a low profile on the retail banking side in Delaware, but has been more visible in business lending activities.
