Harvey Hanna and Associates, Newport,  is building  100,000  square feet of warehouse/flex space on Dockview Drive in the Delaware River Industrial Park in the New Castle area. The space is expected to be available for lease in early 2018.

The construction is good news for an industrial market that has been sluggish for many years after losing suppliers to the state’s auto plants and the loss of other companies.

The building is believed to be only the second industrial/flex structure in the 100,000 square-foot range that has been constructed since 2012.

Harvey Hanna’s portfolio has been moving toward full occupancy as companies expand or move to higher quality space.

A report last week also indicated that Harvey Hanna will buy the site of the former GM Boxwood plant.

The company did not comment on the report, although the site is believed to be undergoing due diligence prior to a sale.
