Poll shows Trump with big lead and Clinton holding narrower edge over Sanders

embed-1.doAn organization known as Gravis Marketing has released a poll that shows Donald Trump with a wide lead in the Republican presidential primary, with Hillary Clinton holding a narrower margin over U.S.. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

In a wide open Democratic primary congressional race, State Sen. Bryan Townsend holds an edge over other candidates, although most voters are undecided.

Clinton, a former U.S. Senator and Secretary of State has a 45 percent to 38 percent lead over Sanders.

Trump is walloping other candidates in the Republican primary with a 55 percent margin, compared to 18 percent for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and 15 percent for U.S. Ted Cruz.

Trump is slated to make appearances this week on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Harrington, DE. Both areas are in the Salisbury, MD TV market.

Gravis Marketing, conducted a random survey of 1,038 likely Republican Primary voters and 1,026 likely Democratic Primary voters.  The poll has a margin of error of ± 3.0 percent for Republicans and ± 3.1 percent for Democrats.

The poll was conducted from April 17th through the 18th.  The total may not round to 100% because of rounding.  The polls were conducted using automated telephone calls (IVR technology) with the results weighted by relevant voting demographics, a release stated.

Delaware is rarely polled and the Gravis poll is believed to be the first regarding the upcoming primary.
