New  leadership at Christiana Care Health System

Christiana Care Health System announces new leadership appointments:

Edmondo Robinson, M.D., MBA, FACP, as Chief Transformation Officer. In this new role, Robinson will have responsibility for transformation of health care delivery as Christiana Care advances its population health initiatives and moves from volume-based to value-based care. He will work closely with Service Line and Essential Services leadership as well as other internal and external partners to meet our strategic goals of optimal health, exceptional experience and organizational vitality with a focus on innovation. He will continue to have clinical oversight of the Wilmington Campus on an interim basis.

 Bettina Tweardy Riveros as Chief Health Equity Officer. In this new role, she is responsible for furthering Christiana Care’s efforts in diversity and inclusion and strategically engaging community stakeholders in partnerships that advance our strategic aims and our vision for a healthy Delaware. She will also help guide the health system’s health policy agenda.

Doug Azar as senior vice president, The Medical Group of Christiana Care and Network Operations. In this new role, he is responsible for operational leadership of Christiana Care’s employed physician practices and guides Christiana Care’s population health and accountable care strategies through Christiana Care Quality Partners and the Christiana Care Quality Partners Accountable Care Organization (ACO).

Behram new Chief Compliance Officer

The Bancorp announced the appointment of Sepideh Behram to SVP, Chief Compliance Officer. In her new role, Behram will oversee the organization’s entire Compliance Risk Management Program, ensuring best-in-class consumer protection within The Bancorp and among its third-party partners and service providers.

Prior to joining The Bancorp, Behram served as Vice President of Global Compliance and Ethics for Global Corporate Payments at American Express, and as Chief Compliance Officer at Travelex Global Business Payments NA. She also served as the Senior Compliance Counsel in the Center for Regulatory Compliance Section of the American Bankers Association (ABA), overseeing regulatory efforts in Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act matters by issuing comment letters and engaging the industry in discussions on proposed legislation. Previous to the ABA, Behram served as Director of Global Anti-Money Laundering for E*TRADE Financial and as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for E*TRADE Bank, along with several roles at Monroe Bank and Trust in Monroe, Michigan, including Second Vice President and Special Assets Manager, overseeing commercial loan workouts and collections.

Behram has a J.D. from Michigan State University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University. She is a member of the District of Columbia and Michigan Bars, as well as the American Bar Association. Behram is the Chair of the ABA’s CAFP Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the US Capital Chapter of ACAMS.

Nazdrowicz joins Landmark Science & Engineering

Ted C. Williams, President of Landmark Science & Engineering, announced that environmental scientist Amy Nazdrowicz, who specializes in wetlands, habitat management, and wildlife investigations, has been named as an Associate of the firm and will lead the Natural Sciences and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) groups. Amy has 10 years of experience with the firm, having worked the first three years with a regional environmental firm that merged with Landmark in 2009.

Nazdrowicz earned a Masters of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology at University of Delaware and a Bachelors of Science in Environmental and Forest Biology from S.U.N.Y. Environmental Science and Forestry. She is certified in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania as a “Recognized Qualified Bog Turtle Surveyor,” a rare distinction where there are only a couple of resident Delaware professionals that can lead Phase I and Phase II bog turtle investigations. She is an expert on evaluating the effects of wetland amendments on the biodiversity of constructed wetlands, and her research has been published in Biological Conservation and in Restoration Ecology. Ms. (Alsfeld) Nazdrowicz has conducted a number of professional scientific seminars and environmental educational programs on topics including wetland creation, wetland diversity, native plants, landscape ecology, and herpetology.

Nelson named chief administrative officer

Karins and Associates,  Newark, an engineering, surveying, and planning firm, announced the hiring of Pamela J. Nelson as Chief Administrative Officer.

Nelson has more than  30 years of business and marketing experience including 15 years with engineering and environmental consulting firms.

Nelson’s responsibilities include marketing, business development, office services, accounting, human resources, and facilities.  She will work with the management team on strategic planning/ implementation, invigorating the company brand, improving and streamlining processes, and facilitating changes to improve client services.

Karins and Associates is an engineering, planning, and surveying consulting firm. Karins offers services including subdivision/land development, surveying, and high density laser scanning, stormwater management/water resources, utility planning and engineering, transportation, certified construction review, and construction permitting.

Tschoepe  promoted

Abby Tschoepe, RRT, BS, Manager of Beebe Healthcare’s Ornish Reversal Program and Cardiac Rehab has been promoted to Manager of Non-invasive Cardiology and Vascular Services.

In her new position, Tschoepe will continue to manage the Ornish program and Cardiac Rehab, but will also oversee Beebe’s two Vascular Labs, Non-invasive Cardiology and Echocardiography.

She joined Beebe last year and helped kick off the Ornish Reversal Program, which is now part of Cardiac Rehabilitation. Both are located in the Medical Arts Building at the Beebe Health Campus in Rehoboth Beach..

Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, Tschoepe served for 15 years as the Director of Respiratory Care, Cardiology, Electromyography (EMG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), Vascular Lab, Sleep Disorders Clinic and Cardiac Cath Labs at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia.

Passed CPA exam

Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwarves, CPAs announced that Courtney J. Bare and William T. Lonergan have passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.

Bare joined the staff of Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwares, CPAs in 2013. She is a graduate of James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Lonergan joined the firm in 2014. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Both professionals focus their work in auditing and tax services.
