Scott Kammerer, president of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware-based SoDel Concepts, announced plans to open a second Matt’s Fish Camp in early summer 2016.

The original Matt’s Fish Camp, one of SoDel Concepts’ existing eight restaurants, is in Bethany Beach. The new restaurant will open in the Tenley Court shopping center on Route 1 in Lewes.

“We’re so excited to be opening a new location on Coastal Highway in the Lewes area,” Kammerer said. “We love building restaurants that our guests enjoy, and at the same time creating a great environment for people in our community to work. We are working on building a legacy and opening a second Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes is an important step in that direction. Matt’s Fish Camp is all about cooking simple delicious local seafood in a friendly restaurant where everyone feels welcome.”

Having two Matt Fish Camp locations allow customers in the northern and southern beaches to enjoy similar menus without having to travel far. At 3,200 square feet, the restaurant will seat 90 people in the dining room and will feature a 12-seat bar and raw bar.

“SoDel is a young, progressive company that looks for opportunities to expand and develop,” he said. “We provide growth potential for managers and chefs to advance and opportunities for guests to enjoy our restaurants in multiple locations. It’s exciting to be part of building a brand and a legacy.”

It marks the first major  expansion for SoDel since the death of founder and Fish Camp namesake Matt Haley in 2014.

The other two-location restaurant within SoDel is Papa Grande’s, a latino cuisine restaurant, which has locations in Fenwick and Rehoboth Beach.

Other restaurants include Lupo Italian Kitchen, Rehoboth Beach; Fish On, Lewes; Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Bethany Beach; NorthEast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View;  and Catch 54 in Fenwick Island.

The company’s businesses also include Plate Catering; Matt’s Homemade Soda Co.; Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen, a food truck; Haley/Kammerer, a hospitality consulting firm; Highwater Management, a hospitality management company; and SoDel Films.
