State Police investigate wave of business robberies

Delaware State Police are investigating four armed robberies at northern Delaware businesses over the weekend.

 The first robbery occurred at about 12:58 a.m. on Saturday,    at the Dunkin Donuts at 4902 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
The suspect, armed with a tire iron, confronted a male store clerk and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk, however, refused the suspect’s demands.
The suspect then climbed over the sales counter and  took  an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. He then fled from the business and was last seen running in a southbound direction. The clerk was not injured. 
 
The suspect was described as a white male, 45-50 years of age. He was 6’01”-6’02” tall, weighed 180-200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. 
 
The second robbery occurred on Saturday, December 5 at about 10:46 a.m., as a male suspect entered  Pat’s Pizza Restaurant located at 3604 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington.
He displayed a knife and confronted a female clerk. The suspect then proceeded to remove the cash register from the sales counter and fled from the business. He was last seen running in a westbound direction. The clerk was not injured. 
 
The suspect was described as a white male, 45-50 years of age. He was 5’10” tall and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt. 
 
The third incident occurred at a 3:59 p.m. yesterday as a male suspect entered the City Limits store inside of the Wilmington Flea Market, at 1902 S. Maryland Avenue.
The suspect, who was armed with an unknown make and model gun, approached a female clerk and demanded cash from the store register. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to him. The suspect then fled from the store in an unknown direction. 
 
The suspect was described as a black male 30-40 years of age. He was 5’09”-5’11” tall, and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, red pants, black sneakers, and a blue baseball cap. 
 
The fourth   robbery occurred early Sunday at 2:12 a.m  A male suspect entered the Wawa  at 1 Salem Village Square, south of Newark.
The suspect, who had  a knife, confronted a female clerk who was in the rear of the store. The suspect then escorted the clerk to the sales counter and demanded money from the register.
The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes to the suspect. He then fled from the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries. 
 
The suspect was described as a white male 40-50 years of age. He was 6’ tall with blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and tan boots.
It has not been determined  if any of the robberies were committed by the same suspect and no photos were immediately available.
