Urban Engineers EVP to chair PENJERDEL

Urban Engineers, Inc., a multidiscipline engineering design firm with an office in New Castle, announced that Matthew C. Marquardt, PE, has been named chairman of the board of directors of The PENJERDEL Council.

Marquardt serves as a senior vice president and chief operations officer for the aviation, site/land development, facilities design and construction, and rail and transit practices.  He will follow James H. Carll of Archer & Greiner who served as chairman for 10 years.

For the past 50 years, PENJERDEL has been dedicated to informing, educating, and supporting the business community in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware region by leading issues and projects affecting the environment, infrastructure, mobility, sustainability, and growth.

With more than 25 years in the  industry Marquardt’s expertise encompasses the management, design, and inspection of a variety of transportation and facility engineering assignments for both private and public clients. He is a registered professional engineer in 10 states and has served or is serving as a board member of American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, American Society of Highway Engineers, and Villanova University Engineering Alumni Association.  Marquardt earned a master’s in business administration from Widener University and a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Villanova University.

Next Gen North elects officers

Next Gen North, a nonprofit board of young professionals, elected new executive officers to serve for a two-year term beginning January, 2016. The new officers are Kristen Kuipers as president, Danni Dick as vice president, Julie Russ as secretary, and Brittany Donia as treasurer.

Kristen Kuipersis the Director of Development and Communications for Leadership Delaware. She has more than 15 years of marketing and development experience in the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Kristen served as Board Secretary of Next Gen North the past two years and is a Board Member of Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids, and a Fund for Women Founder and member of their Grants Committee.

Danielle Dick, a Wilmington resident, currently serves as Vice President of Mid-Atlantic Operations for Open Door Media, a Greenville-based public relations firm, where she specializes in public affairs, community organizing and digital media.  In addition to her new role as Vice President of Next Gen North, Danni also serves as a member of Delaware Nature Society’s Advocacy Committee and volunteers for a number of animal welfare organizations. Prior to becoming Vice President of Next Gen North,  she was co-chair of the Development Committee and co-chair of the Chips for Charity event committee.

Julie Sulzbacher Russis is  a homemaker and volunteer. From 2008 to 2012, Julie was employed at the University of Delaware’s Office of University Development, serving as Assistant Director of Development Communications in Donor Relations and Special Events and as Staff Writer. Prior to her work at UD, Julie served as the Administrator at Woodburn, Delaware’s Governor’s Mansion, from 2005 to 2008.

Julie is a delegation advisor in the YMCA’s Youth in Government program, a member of the Youth in Government Advisory Committee, and a mentor at the Boys and Girls Club.

Brittany Doniais a Senior Project Manager at Capital One working on National Expansion within the Retail and Direct Bank. Her passion lies with making a difference and she’s proud to have a job that allows her to do so. When she isn’t working, she spends most of her time in Philadelphia with her family, exploring the city. Originally from Exton, PA, she is a graduate of Loyola University in Maryland where she earned a B.A. in Sociology.

Next Generation North of the Delaware Community Foundation is a philanthropic organization whose mission is to develop young professionals into effective nonprofit board leaders.

Coleman joins Nanticoke Physicians Network

Nanticoke Physician Network  announced Karen E. Coleman,  joined active medical staff.

Dr. Coleman is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism. She will be joining Dr. Francisco Padilla at the Nanticoke Diabetes and Endocrinology Center within Nanticoke Memorial Hospital located at 801 Middleford Road in Seaford. She will also be providing services at Nanticoke Family Practice in Georgetown, DE.

Dr. Coleman received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California and her Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She also completed her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Mancilla joins Saint  Francis Family Medicine

Saint  Francis Health Care  announced that Sandra Mancilla, M.D., has joined the Family Medicine Department. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Mancilla has  experience in outpatient and community medicine.

Before joining Saint Francis Healthcare, Mancilla practiced family medicine at Penn Family New Garden which is a Kennett Square-based practice affiliated with Chester County Hospital. She also served as a workman’s compensation specialist at a family medical practice in Los Angeles.

She completed her residency and internship in family medicine at Saint Francis Healthcare and completed an additional internship at General Military Hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico. She received her medical degree from Universidad Auto noma de Guadalajara in Mexico. Mancilla has active medical licenses in Delaware and Pennsylvania, and she is board certified in family medicine.

Ilustre joins Saint  Francis Healthcare

Saint Francis Healthcare announced that Joanne Ilustre, D.O., has joined its cardiology practice, Partners in CardioVascular Health. Dr. Ilustre joins Drs. Audrey Sernyak and Yolanda Hendley in providing evaluative, diagnostic and management services for all types of cardiac and vascular diseases.

Prior to joining Saint Francis Healthcare, Ilustre completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and a cardiology fellowship at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.

She served as a co-presenter at the 10th Annual C³ Conference on complex multi-vascular stenosis interventions that facilitate coronary artery bypass surgery in patients with multi-vessel coronary artery disease. As a member of the National Youth Leadership Forum, she mentored and educated young students in various fields of medicine and surgery.

She received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. A cum laude graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science and sports studies/psychology,

She is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
