Arson ruled as cause of fire at luxury home in Middletown

arson (2)The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that the fire that  heavily damaged an upscale  Middletown home on July 19  was arson.

The blaze, reported shortly before 1 a.m. was  in the unit block of Haggis Road in the Estates of Saint Anne.  The Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown arrived on the scene with flames shooting out of the two-story dwelling.  Fire damage was estimated at $500,000. State fire investigators have ruled that the fire was intentionally started inside the dwelling. The criminal investigation to find  those responsible is being conducted by deputy state fire marshals.
