Delmarva Power is working with local emergency management agencies to help ensure public safety.”

The New Castle County Division of Public Safety and state public safety officials  reported an outage involving one of the cell phone carriers and connections to landline phones.

.  When a call is placed using a cell or mobile phone from the  carrier, a busy signal was received and the call does not go through the landline. The cell phone carrier was not initially  identified.

All emergency services communications in the county  are operating normally.

The carrier was later identified as Verizon by Delaware 105.9, Lewes. It was also reported that complete Verizon mobile  outages were reported in southern New Jersey, due to the storm. Service was restored in Delware at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with New Jersey service in operation in the afternoon, spokesman Sheldon Jones reported.
