The Hollywood Casino in Perryville eked out a gain in revenues, according to the latest report from the The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
In September, Maryland’s casinos – Hollywood Casino in Cecil County, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Maryland Live Casino in Anne Arundel County, and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegheny County – posted $65.3 million in revenue, up 45 percent from a year ago.
The performance has been aided by the addition of table games. Meanwhile, competition from Maryland and Pennsylvania casinos has hurt Delaware venues.
Hollywood Casino’s September 2013 revenue increased by $625,848, or 10.4%, from September 2012. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 1,158 slot machines and 22 table games. The table games helped stem a sharp loss in revenues after the opening of Maryland Live Casino near Baltimore.
Casino at Ocean Downs, near Ocean City, generated $5.1 million in September, and its gaming revenue per unit per day was $212.29. Casino at Ocean Downs’ September 2013 revenue increased by $190,082, or 3.9%, from September 2012. Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines. Maryland Live Casino generated $50,489,919 from both slot machines and table games in September.
Maryland Live Casino operates 4,341 slot machines and 174 table games. Maryland Live’s September 2013 revenue increased by $18,488,400, or 57.8%, from September 2012.
Rocky Gap Casino Resort in western Maryland generated $3,130,297 from both slot machines and table games in September. 45%
