Easter Seals of Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shor honored  longtime benefactor, James F. Kearns, Sr., for his support of Easter Seals at the 2013 Annual Dinner.

The event  was  held on Thursday, October 10  at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. Participants in the Easter Seals Supported Employment program will be featured, with an update from Health and Human Services Secretary, Rita Landgraf, on the Governor’s initiative to increase employment of individuals with disabilities.

The evening program also will pay tribute to disability advocate and Easter Seals President/CEO, Bill Adami, who passed away earlier this year.

The evening’s honoree and Easter Seals board member for 25 years, James F. Kearns, Sr., has been a major influence in the growth of the organization since 1988. Kearns is a retired DuPont Co. executive.

Kearns’ long record of involvement includes serving as Chair of the Board, leading two Easter Seals capital campaigns, receiving the National Easter Seals Volunteer of the Year award and being one of the first Delawareans inducted into the Edgar Allen Founders Society, and the Chairman’s Roundtable, distinctions given nationally to individuals for extraordinary financial giving.
