IT managed services firm MySherpa promoted Ethan Tancredi from VP of Operations to President Sherpa to oversee all daily operations and employees at MySherpa, based near Wilmington.

He joined MySherpa in 2005 and has held various positions through the company’s growth. Tancredi is highly valued for his keen ability to relate to clients and decipher their IT needs, leading to their satisfaction with the company’s work, according to a MySherpa release.

Bacigalupi  joins Long & Foster

Long & Foster  Real Estate, Inc., welcomed Diane Walls Bacigalupi to its Greenville office.  A Delaware native, Bacigalupi brings her  community and market knowledge, as well as expertise in negotiations, to her new sales associate role at Long & Foster, according to a release.

Bacigalupi, a professional in the real estate industry for the past nine years, was a top producing agent with another local firm before joining Long & Foster. Bacigalupi was recognized with the Achiever Society Award from 2008 to 2011 and received the Sterling Society Award in 2012. She is also a two-time Top Agent for Philadelphia Magazine.

Bacigalupi is a Certified Relocation Specialist with  experience working with buyers and sellers who are transferring to or from the Delaware area. She has expertise in new home construction and communities for adults over the age of 55, and she has worked with many first-time home buyers and members of the U.S. military—an area in which she has particular knowledge, having served in the military herself.

Swift names technology chief

Swift Capital, a  provider of small business working capital solutions, announced today the appointment of technology veteran John Klose as the company’s new chief technology officer. Klose’s  experience in financial services, payments and online retail services will help support the continued growth and expansion of Swift Capital’s technology platform. A former technology executive at Amazon.com and JP Morgan Chase, Klose will oversee Swift Capital’s technology strategy, systems, mobile and data warehousing efforts.

“Building on his experience at Amazon and Chase, John will help Swift Capital advance its online platform for providing the best priced and simplest working capital solutions for small business owners,” said Ed Harycki, founder and CEO of Swift Capital. “His combined expertise in online user experience and banking make him uniquely suited to lead our technology initiatives moving forward. Klose joins Swift from Amazon.com where he served as head of technology program management for Amazon Marketplace which supports millions of merchants and billions of dollars in sales globally with ecommerce marketplaces in the US, Canada, Japan, Europe, China and India. Previously,  Klose served as vice president and applications development director in JP Morgan Chase’s Retail Banking Division.

Aliquo to head Beebe foundation

The Board of Directors of the Beebe Medical Foundation announced that Judy Ludlow Aliquo, CFRE, will serve as the new President and CEO of the Beebe Medical Foundation.

She  will assume overall responsibility for all of the ongoing operations of the Foundation, which supports Beebe in realizing its vision of Sussex County becoming one of the healthiest counties in the nation. Her primary focus is on philanthropic efforts, such as the Beebe Annual Fund, planned giving and programmatic fundraising, and future capital campaigns. She also will oversee our premier fundraising events, such as the annual Art Auction in the spring and the Beebe Ball in the fall.

“I am familiar with the strides that Beebe has made in recent years,” says   Aliquo, a Delaware native from Wilmington who has regularly visited the area with her husband Jim Aliquo. “I am honored and excited to continue the important work of the Foundation and to raise funds to support Beebe, which provides quality medical care and services to the people in southern Delaware.”

Aliquo joins Beebe Medical Foundation from Wilmington Friends School, where she has worked in fund-raising, development, and community outreach roles for 23 years. Since 2001, she served as Director of Development, where she worked with the head of the school and board members to raise funds for a $35 million comprehensive fund-raising campaign. In addition, Judy was responsible for alumni and donor relations, stewardship, and events.

Aliquo, who has a strong background as a business manager and a comptroller, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington. Aliquo is moving to the Rehoboth Beach area with her husband Jim. Judy and Jim have two children, Erin and Gabe, who both live and work in the Wilmington area.

“We are pleased that Mrs. Aliquo will take over this important assignment,” says Paul Mylander, chairman of the Beebe Foundation Board of Directors. “She brings a wealth of experience in the development profession and an appreciation of Delaware and the needs of our growing population.”

Beebe Medical Foundation was established in 1989 with the sole mission to raise philanthropic support for Beebe Medical Center.

Gordeon joins MacElree

MacElree Harvey, Ltd. anounced that Jacquelyn N. Gordon has joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s business and corporate law, non-profit law and tax departments.

Jacquelyn represents clients in business transactions and general corporate matters, with an emphasis on related tax issues. Her practice includes advising clients on business planning and formation, preparing and negotiating corporate agreements, and other business matters.

Prior to joining MacElree Harvey, Jacquelyn worked in the tax department of a large Philadelphia firm, assisting individuals, corporations, and partnerships and other pass-through entities with international, federal, and state tax issues. Additionally, Jacquelyn has represented low-income taxpayers through the Villanova Federal Tax Clinic by assisting individuals with tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Justice.

Jacquelyn graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester in 2006, majoring in Anthropology and Political Science, where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Basketball team. Jacquelyn was a Big Sister to a local girls’ basketball team and also volunteered with Catholic Family Services, working with a Somalian refugee family. Jacquelyn attended Villanova University School of Law where she received her juris doctorate (2011) and master of laws in taxation (2012). During the 2013 tax season, Jacquelyn volunteered with the Campaign for Working Families, assisting Philadelphia’s low-income taxpayers in the preparation of their annual tax returns.

Elder joins Beebe staff

Justin Lee Elder, DO, an ear, nose and throat, and facial plastic surgery specialist, has joined the Beebe Medical Staff and is seeing patients in the Medical Arts Building, Suite 201, at 18947 John J. Williams Highway in Rehoboth Beach.

Elder is a member of the Beebe Physician Network, a not-for-profit, multi-specialty medical group affiliated with Beebe Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery.

Elder earned his Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed an internship and residency in Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston,  N.J.

Elder is one of more than 200 physicians affiliated with Beebe Medical Center. They represent nearly 30 different specialties.

 

Dix named to CFO post

Hampton Roads Bankshares, Inc., the holding company for The Bank of Hampton Roads and Shore Bank, announced  that Thomas B. Dix III has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the company.

He  will be responsible for directing the financial functions of the holding company and its subsidiaries, including accounting, tax, treasury, financial planning, investor relations and vendor management.

Shore Bank has  a loan production office  in Rehoboth Beach. Dix has served as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Interim Chief Financial Officer since April.

Before joining BHR in April 2009, Dix held positions in credit, asset-based lending, branch management and commercial lending with Mercantile Peninsula Bank/PNC Bank and its predecessor institutions from 2001 to 2009.

Dix earned a bachelors in economics from the University of Virginia.
